This should be the final mass mailing on Frontier EEG Supplement. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Supplement is out. It is hard copy (this was unexpected to me, I thought it would just be a paper edition to accompany the EEG J). However, the supplements are all hard copies (books) which require a separate subscription from libraries or individuals. This is a publisher's ploy, as libraries have separate budgets for journals and books. However in this case their ploy is ineffective. My library does NOT subscribe to the supplement, and you may find your library does not either. I suspect most individuals do not subscribe even if they do subscribe to EEG J. Thus I was a little disconcerted with the cover letter from Elsevier: "We regard it as a valuable publication and feel certain it will attract a wide readership." Thank God for medline! Nevertheless, the book is beautiful, the illustrations well done, the index thorough (hey, I did the index), and the topic is still unique and compelling despite the 3 year hiatus. I SINCERELY THANK EVERYONE IN CONTRIBUTING TO THIS BOOK. I BELIEVE NOW, AS THEN, IT IS A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE FIELD OF NEUROPHYSIOLOGY. Authors, editors and contributors are eligible for a 30% discount if ordered directly from Elsevier and accompanied by payment. Since I don't know if you received such an order form, one is included in the snailmail version of this message. The list price is Dfl.260 (this is 260 Dutch and the exchange rate is running about 0.594 so that translates into $154 American).
